"I need to live a little, have some fun"

I think Kenny Chesney is trying to tell me something . . .

Two mornings in a row, the song, "Live A Little," has come on the radio as I have been speeding to work, a little on the late side. It's got me to thinking (always a dangerous thing, I know).

Well, it is now summer, and more specifically, the very first summer after I successfully graduated from college (I got the email confirming that I checked all the little boxes off!) I want to make it one of the best summer's of my life! Something memorable!

So, as Kenny keeps reminding me, "I need to live a little, have some fun, take some time, waste it on number one." I realize this might sound a little rich coming from a girl who's been to England, Paris, Vegas, etc. . . and yet, now that I'm home from school, everything has kind of . . . stopped. I don't know if that is quite the right word. But, it isn't that I've lost all sight of any goals I have. I still have my list for summer. But, with work being so time consuming (that's retail for you) I've been having trouble finding the motivation to do anything except get up for work.

I think my hint may have taken hold now, however. So, as a living testament to my summer plans: here it is, Blog-style.

Goals:
--Start running again and run in the Harvest Home 5K.
--Start riding again so that I can compete in Horse Shows again (I miss it)
--Write my heart out every chance I can . . . (basically on breaks at work)
--Save money for many things . . . car, travel, books, movies, travel, car . . . apartment eventually
--Spend more time outside (see points one and two as well as just in general)
--Stop sleeping so much and get a move on in life!!!!!!!

Basically these are my goals. I've been feeling a bit stressed lately and I think this is why. I haven't really been able to nail it down until now. Goals, a new direction, something to work towards. I also think, in addition to Mr. Chesney, reading the book Dancing Lessons by Cheryl Burke (the Dancing With the Stars dancer), has helped inspire my motivation again. You CAN accomplish your dreams no matter what, if you work hard at it. This is very important. Of course I knew this already, I just needed a timely reminder.

While this might include waking up well before work time . . . as in sunrise time-ish . . . I can do it! How can I be so sure??? Well, I've done it before. Last summer to be exact. Granted I did go back to sleep after waking up at six, but if I can wake up, then I can most definately keep myself up (especially since I had to work to fall back to sleep anyways).

So, hopefully by/at the end of the summer, one of these blogs will be about how great this summer was (which I'm sure it will be! we have some fun adventures lined up). The list of goals will hopefully be accomplished.

Alright, it's officially posted now (which means I have to stick to it).

Summer . . . .

aaaaaannnnnnnndddddddd . . . . . . . . . GO!!!!

And Here's May's.

Sorry for the short cut stop at the end of the previous blog. I figured I should leave some stuff for May. :)

I'm soon 22. Don't really have any opinioins about that. I stayed up until 5 AM to watch the Royal Wedding of William and Kate. I'm glad I did. It was a good night. Osama bin Laden has finally been located and taken out. That's headline news! The annual Wheeler Block Party ended in a riot. Not too happy with that, but I won't rant because I've already done that.

Really, the focus of this month is that I graduate from college. And, I'm not all too sure how I really feel about it. I mean, yes, I am going to be glad to be done with assignments and classes and tests, but I'm going to miss pretty much everything else. Well, except dorm food. Even though Macomb, to me, is noisy, I'll miss having everything and everyone so close. After I graduate, my friends will be miles away. In some cases 3 hours away. In most cases really. I've really had a very good time this year. I would like to thank all my friends for being there for me and for all the good times we've been having.

Moving on from college is going to be like culture shock. I mean, I've been in school of some sort since I was 5. That's 17 years of my life that I've been in school!! It's almost like all of a sudden I have to grow up. Actually, that is probably the point. But, who knows if I will or won't go back to school to earn my Masters. Or maybe I'll do some more travelling. What I really know at this point in time is that I'm going to have to start paying school off and my goal is to accomplish this daunting task in less than 10 years. In other words, spending is going to be tight. But, on purpose. I realize 10 years goes by faster than one can imagine (case and point 10 years ago I was almost 12) but I don't want to have to dish out money for school that long. Not to mention, I'm going to have other expenses to look after. It should be an interesting time in my life, trying to make ends meet as well as I possibly can.

Here's to the Future!

There Went April . . . Ooops!

Soooo, April. Yeah. Meant to blog. Can't believe I didn't, other than being busy. Which isn't really an excuse seeings how I'm still busy and writing a blog now.

April seemed to fly by. Lots of reading for classes, keeping up with papers and other homework. The weather has been all over. Really warm and then really cold and a frost warning out for the next few days (even though I'm talking about May right here).

A lot of things have fallen to the wayside. Reading anything other than assigned books, any sort of relaxation, and healthy eating habits. We're down to the wire now. I have been writing a lot, hanging out with friends, attempting to excersize somewhat regularly, and enjoying (for the most part) my last few months here at Western. I think I'm doing a pretty good job of attempting to keep up with everything, even though a good Agatha Christie novel would do me some good at the moment.

"March Madness" Is About Right

So, I just looked up and realized that March is quickly flying past. Therefore, I decided to stop and take a moment to acknowledge its existance (and smell the flowers).

If you didn't get this from my first two sentences, ITS BEEN BUSY!

But, on the other hand (for the most part) it has been fun. It's college, of course it's fun. Well, classes . . . eh, but we all knew that.

Now that we've gone and done Spring Break (a trip to visit my Gram), I've settled in to a sort of groove, disrupted every once in a while by "senioritis". I think that just comes with the territory. I've been writing a lot (which I LOVE) and I've started running fairly regularly-ish. My sleep schedule is a bit off, but that's life.

I cannot believe how close graduation is. I don't know what to expect afterwards, I don't really know what I want out of a career. In other words: It should be interesting!

Well, that was a random post to keep a person on their toes. Random thoughts from a late/early time in the morning . . . however you wish to view it. A bit of the glass half full or half empty except more of a . . . night owl or early bird twist. Well, there you are, cheers!

Dear February, You crack me up!

Hiya! So, February!

-Snowpacolypse. Meaning 20 inches of snow and 2 snow days off. Beautiful.

-A week later temperatures reaching to 70 degrees F followed by a cold front reducing the temperatures to 50?! Lovely!

-Rehearsals!! I'm stage managing the production All My Sons here at Western! :D BUSY!

-I graduate in a few months. (Excited) Classes are very busy. (of course) Including my most difficult class of my college/uni career. (EEK!)

So, I've been a bit stressed, but that doesn't seem to be anything new. I'm trying to get everything together, but it's a bit difficult with everything on my plate. The play opens this Wednesday (Feb. 23) so it will be over by the end of this coming week. (An exciting and yet sad prospect as I've really enjoyed working on this show!) However, I've also missed writing. Over Winter Break I got into a groove (writing-wise) and it has been put on hold a bit for the show. But, now that the show is coming to a close, I'm looking forward to being able to write a lot again.

I suppose that is really all that is going on besides missing England every once in a while (or a lot) and yup, that's about it.
